The selection of personnel in times of crisis

We all know that to elect our personal staff we need to have some basics rules of our candidate profile which includes his personal qualities, his work experience, his skills and his knowledge, we must also consider what their responsibilities will be in addition to other criteria applied generally in personnel selection. But in times of crisis is necessary to take additional considerations which is what I will introduce in this article.

In a crisis situation the talent, creativity and adaptability to change are important to the company. For this reason, we need people better prepared for new challenges.

Actually, when we hire a professional, they must have a high ability to adapt to scenarios of uncertainty, a good leader to lead the staff in the right direction and generate a commitment to work with their employees, we find a leader who can work face to the crisis, endure many frustrations and learn to work under stress.

If we find a qualified technician we will focused on people who have a good ability to promote innovative solutions to better enjoy our resources and our budget without this means increasing our costs

We consider if our potential candidates are working, they have to be careful before retiring from their company to work with us. As a leader of our company, we must evaluate our economic projections, work conditions, benefits labour offering some additional benefits to applicants. If our candidates do not work, it will be a better advantage for us because we could count on them immediately.

But there is something extremely important that is to try keeping our staff in the company, to show them our goals, plans and programs for the future. If we can not make pay increases, let them know that at the moment is impossible, but once the crisis decrease we will make the relevant salary adjustment. We must respect always our commitment.

Do not forget that our staff is a human group that works together toward the same goal. If our team is working well we will reach our goals. For example, we have a car which is working very well because all the pieces are working perfectly well, but if a piece does not work well and it starts having problems endangering our security, we can not use our car anymore. Do not wait for serious problems in our company to star solving them, act before they arrive.
